Content Do's and Don'ts

Do

  • +Share your genuine, honest experience — we love authentic content
  • +Show the atmosphere — Dartmouth's streets, the harbour, the castle, the cobbles
  • +Film yourself solving riddles and clues (but don't reveal the answers!)
  • +Share your completion selfie and leaderboard position
  • +Tag us @stonesandstoriesuk on Instagram and @stones.stories on TikTok
  • +Use #StonesAndStories and #DartmouthTreasureHunt
  • +Mention your discount code so your followers get money off
  • +Share the link stonesandstories.co.uk or your personal referral link

Don't

  • ×Reveal riddle answers or clue solutions — this spoils it for your followers
  • ×Show the exact locations on the map before solving the riddle — the mystery is the whole point
  • ×Read out the full Captain's journal entries word for word — a teaser is fine
  • ×Use our logo in a way that implies official endorsement of other products
  • ×Create content that's misleading about what the experience includes

Inspiration for Your Content

The Mystery Hook

Start your video with the riddle text on screen. Let your audience try to solve it before you reveal the answer. This drives comments and saves.

The History Bomb

Pick the most surprising fact from the hunt ("Did you know a Dartmouth ironmonger invented the steam engine before James Watt?") and lead with it. Educational content with a hook performs incredibly well.

The Couple's Review

"We did a treasure hunt through Dartmouth instead of going to a restaurant and it was honestly one of the best dates we've had." Frame it as a date day alternative.

The Group Challenge

Film your group arguing about a clue answer. The debates are naturally entertaining and relatable.

The Transformation

"We arrived knowing nothing about Dartmouth. We left knowing about pirates, pilgrims, and a secret chain under the river." Before and after content always performs.

The Leaderboard Chase

Show your time, your score, your title. Challenge your followers to beat it. Competitive content drives bookings because people want to prove they can do better.

Your Personal Code

Your unique discount code gives your followers £3 off and earns you 30% commission (£6) on every booking. Include it in your captions, Stories, and bio.

Example caption text:

Use code [YOURCODE] at stonesandstories.co.uk for £3 off!

Your referral link auto-applies the discount:
